Multilingual AI chatbot for your website

One chatbot, trained once on your English content, that answers visitors in the language they write in. No duplicate bots, no translated knowledge base to maintain.

How language detection works

The visitor writes in their language

No language picker, no separate widget. They type the question the way they would ask a person.

Askvo retrieves from your content

Retrieval runs against the content you trained it on, whatever language that content is in.

The reply comes back in kind

The answer is written in the language the visitor used, grounded in the content that was retrieved.

Because the answer is generated from your content at reply time, your knowledge base stays in one language. You train the chatbot on your own data once, in whatever language your site is written in, and the translation happens in the reply rather than in your content.

The same English content, answered in four languages

Each of these comes from an identical English shipping-policy page. The visitor never switches anything — they just write in their own language.

French

German

Or pin the chatbot to one language

Auto-detection is the default, and it's the right choice for most sites. If you'd rather the bot always answer in a single language regardless of what the visitor writes, pin it in the AI settings. English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic are available as explicit choices.

Pinning is useful when your support team only reads one language and conversations get handed off to a human regularly — a transcript everyone on the team can read is worth more than a reply in the visitor's language.

It still says "I don't know" — in any language

Answering in another language doesn't loosen the grounding rule. If your content doesn't cover the question, the bot says so in the visitor's language instead of inventing an answer, and the question lands in your Unanswered Questions report. That matters more, not less, across a language barrier: a visitor who can't easily double-check your site is the one most likely to act on a wrong answer. Multilingual chatbot FAQ

Do I need a separate chatbot for each language?

No. One chatbot handles every language, because the translation happens when the answer is written rather than in your stored content. A second bot per language would mean maintaining the same knowledge twice.

Does my website content have to be translated first?

No. Train the bot on your site as it is, in one language. It retrieves from that content and writes the reply in the language the visitor used.

Which languages can I pin the chatbot to?

English, French, Spanish, German and Arabic are available as explicit settings. Automatic detection is not limited to that list — it is only the pinned-language options that are.

Is the answer quality the same in every language?

Retrieval quality is identical, because it runs against your content either way. Phrasing in a language far from your content language can read slightly more literally, which is one reason the bot still refuses to answer what your content does not cover.

What language do conversations appear in for my team?

Transcripts in the inbox appear exactly as the conversation happened, in the visitor’s language. If your team needs everything in one language, pin the bot instead of using auto-detection.
